Part ID Swap

Updated on August 8, 2025

When users create a cart from a non-preferred supplier, Prendio uses an Automated Matching Engine to identify similar products in a cart from preferred suppliers with competitive pricing.  Matches are based on a combination of manufacturing IDs and description matching.

After creating a manual cart, users can add in the parts needed for their order from any supplier. If Prendio detects a potential item with lower pricing from a preferred supplier, users have the option to review and swap the item ensuring that users do not miss potential savings opportunities.

After creating a cart, select Add Part:

Complete a search and select the correct supplier:

Complete the details for the part line including the Part# and Description:

If Prendio detects a similar product with lower pricing from a preferred supplier, a savings badge will display to the right of the Extended pricing:

Click on the savings badge to view the details of the suggested item. If users wish to swap items, select the Swap Item icon:

Prendio updates the line with the new unit price and supplier. Other details like the Part#, U/M, and Description can also be updated as these can vary from supplier to supplier:

Users can see the amount saved by using a preferred supplier below the Unit Price:

Users can Revert Swap to return back to the original supplier and part line:

Please note that Part ID Swap currently offers alternative items from Fisher Scientific and VWR International.  We look to add additional preferred suppliers in the future to continue offering more and more savings opportunities.
