Prendio Response Regarding Okta Security Breach

Earlier this year, between January 16th-21st, 2022, the security company Okta experienced a security breach at one of their support centers. This is one of the third party login providers available to use for handling customer Single Sign-On (SSO) access to the Prendio service. Based on the nature of the security breach, a third-party Okta employee's customer support access was compromised and used to possibly interact with select services owned and operated by Okta.

 

On March 23, 2022, Okta publicly acknowledged the security breach and released the results of their investigation which can be found here (https://www.okta.com/blog/2022/03/oktas-investigation-of-the-january-2022-compromise/).

 

Based on this understanding, it is not believed that BioProcure, Prendio, or any of its customers are impacted by this event, and at no point was any data within the Prendio service compromised or accessed in any way as a result. However, as a precautionary measure Prendio recommends that customers have their users who are authenticating through Okta reset their passwords.

 

Rest assured that Prendio and BioProcure take the security and privacy of our customers and their data seriously. While Okta has not notified us as being a potentially affected client, we are taking this notice as an opportunity to further improve our security and standards so we can continue providing customers with the best experience possible.
